A Standout Stine Goya Caps Copenhagen Fashion Week
by admin on May.17, 2012, under replica watches
The most committed designers won’t let the prospect of labor delay their shows. And in the case of Danish designer Stine Goya, that was labor literally—the very pregnant designer was due the same day as her collection was to debut. But Goya’s collection marched on as scheduled (her baby, for what it’s worth, didn’t make an appearance) and secured her spot as the standout of the season. The designer’s relaxed, feminine forms are widely flattering, but like the seventies Danish designer Margit Brandt, Goya is her own best model. Maybe that’s why all the models in her show were styled with her own signature cat-eye makeup and coif—long, strawberry blond locks with blunt-cut bangs. The collection took hot-air ballooning for its theme, emphasizing voluminous, beaded frocks, printed silk dresses, draped trousers in pretty pastels and sherbet shades. And Goya, a former Chanel model herself, took her runway bow in a peach and white form-fitting dress with a balloon-sized belly. The rest of Copenhagen fashion week was somewhat less buoyant, since many of the city’s most artistically innovative designers were M.I.A. Vilsbøl de Arce and Spon Diogo were noticeably absent from the schedule, which was heavy on commercial labels such as Munthe plus Simonsen, Malene Birger, and Hugo Boss. But the refreshingly clean minimalist Bruuns Bazaar collection, Henrik Vibskov’s Dadaist presentation on a circular stage set rotated by costumed stagehands, and Anne Sofie Madsen’s magnificent collection of dresses with sculptural frills and prints inspired by Piero Fornasetti maintained Copenhagen’s strong creative integrity as the fashion showcase for future generations of stylish Danes.—Ana Finel Honigman

Paz Vega In Hannibal Laguna – 2010 Telva Awards
by admin on May.17, 2012, under replica watches

Paz Vega looked maravillosa at the 2010 Telva Awards which was held at the Palacio de Cibeles in Madrid, Spain last night.
The Spanish actress wore a breath-taking dress by her favourite designer, Hannibal Laguna.
Paz wears Hannibal Laguna as often as Renee Zellweger wears Carolina Herrera to put it into context.
Her dress with a shimmering embroidered bodice and a ruffled skirt is to-die-for. I’m drooling on my desktop – literally.
I just love the way she paired her dress with red peep-toes. Tres refreshing when black would have been the easiest and most obvious choice.
I’m not a fan of what appears to be home cut bangs, but her dress and heels more than make up for that.
It’s only Tuesday and I can easily make up a BDOTW poll already.
Paz will of course be a worthy contender.
Thank you Hola.com for the runway picture.

by admin on May.16, 2012, under replica watches

I Make My Case by Case-Mate gives iPhone users the ability to customize their own iPhone cases by choosing an artist’s work to customize with various design options. Once the customization is done, the case is printed on-demand and shipped directly to you. I tried it out on the website and it’s very easy and quick (unless you can’t make up your mind about what design to pick and how you’re going to make it your own). In mine, I used the Joshua Davis design.

Joseph Meets The Next Generation
by admin on May.16, 2012, under replica watches

London girls have always known about Joseph—since the seventies, it’s been the brand they’ve raided their mothers’ closets for, poaching the great fur accessories, slouchy knits, and signature form-fitting trousers. The label—and its attendant store, founded by retail legend Joseph Ettedgui, which also stocks sharp picks from Alexander Wang, Alaïa, Proenza Schouler, and Givenchy—has maintained a steady client base over the years but fallen largely off the radar of the young and acquisitive. With new owners (the Japanese retail giant Onward Kashiyama, which also owns Jil Sander) and the guiding direction of artistic director Alain Snege (formerly a buyer for Colette and mastermind behind of-the-moment collaborations with the likes of Seven for All Mankind and LD Tuttle), Joseph is gaining traction anew. Longstanding clients Claudia Schiffer, Elle Macpherson, and Liz Hurley—meet Alison Mosshart and Poppy Delevingne. The Joseph look—designed by Louise Trotter, with input from Snege—includes a few girly party dresses (Gwyneth Paltrow recently snapped up a lacy gold frock), but for Fall, it’s got more than a little of the hard-edged, hell-bent-for-leather look popularized by Carine Roitfeld. (No surprise, a friend of Snege’s.) And in keeping with tradition, the fur accents are still liberally dispensed. U.S. fans can find the label at Intermix, Net-a-Porter, and Shopbop, as well as at the label’s Madison Avenue flagship store.

Penelope Cruz In L’Wren Scott – Hollywood Walk of Fame
by admin on May.15, 2012, under replica watches

Penelope Cruz is the first Spanish actress to receive the star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
For the momentous occasion she opted to wear a Fall 2011 L’Wren Scott lace sheath dress.
Her purple knee length dress with elbow length sleeves was accessorized with black Christian Louboutin peep-toe pumps and Chopard jewels.
Cruz is a big fan of L’Wren Scott.
You’ll remember she wore the designer to the 2011 Oscars for her big return to the red carpet.
L’Wren Scott isn’t Penelope’s stylist, you maybe surprised to learn. So her love for the designer is pure.
Penelope was accompanied to the event by family members and Johnny Depp, her co-star in “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” which opens in theaters May 20.

Who Wore Carven Better? Kim Kardashian or Ciara
by admin on May.15, 2012, under replica watches

We often she pictures of celebrity BBFs Kim Kardashian and Ciara shopping together, so I guess it was only a matter of time before they started developing the same tastes in clothes.
They have both been spotted wearing the same Stella McCartney jumpsuit and the same Brian Lichtenberg dress.
On this occasion we see them both wearing the same Carven taffeta dress.
Kim wore her dress shopping in Paris last month. She teamed her dress with a Chanel bag and Christian Louboutin leopard print studded ankle boots.
Ciara wore the same dress with similar Louboutin leopard print ankle boots to the “For Colored Girls” New York Premiere this week.
I was set to vote for Ciara, but I feel myself leaning toward Kim as I prefer her ankle boots and the fact that the hem of her dress is even.
Kim wins for me.

On The ‘Gossip Girl’ Set With Leighton Meester & Blake Lively In Marchesa
by admin on May.14, 2012, under fashion

Last night saw the return of Gossip Girl Season 2 in the US.
Episode 18 was called The Age of Dissonance, in reference to the Constance Billard and St. Jude seniors production of The Age of Innocence.
Blair Waldorf, played by Leighton Meester was dressed in a black lace Marchesa Fall 2008 gown.
The a high collared gown had ruffled details on the shoulders, and 3/4 of the skirt, with a charming brooch completing the look.
Leighton’s hair was plied up in a loose wavy updo, with a few pieces framing her face.
This dress gives off a Holly Golightly vibe. It really suits her.
I always pictured Ellen Pompeo in this dress, as she’s not afraid of a big daring dress.

Serena van der Woodsen, played by Blake Lively, was also dressed in a Marchesa Fall 2008 gown.
Her strapless dove grey gown, was adorned with feathers around the bodice, which cascaded down one side of her multi-layered chiffon skirt.
Blake’s hair was also pulled back off her face, to show off her rosy make-up.
Unfortunately I could not find a full-length picture, but I am sure she looked amazing in the gown.
Here is a preview of last nights episode.

The Candy Man Can, Bosworth’s Baubles, And More…
by admin on May.13, 2012, under replica watches
James Franco does drag on the cover of Candy, “the world’s first transversal style magazine.” Terry Richardson shot the cover (pictured) and the images inside because, really, who else would you expect to do it? It will cost $55 when it arrives at Opening Ceremony. [Opening Ceremony]In further not-that-surprising news: on Gossip Girl, accessorizing a floor-length ball gown with a full-on, spangled Hannibal Lecter-style face mask. [Gawker]Kate Bosworth launches a mail-order, online costume jewelry subscription service. OK, that one we confess we weren’t expecting. [Racked]Gap has dropped its iconic logo for a totally new look—its serif font is now sans-serif, its iconic blue box is now a fraction of the size. Do you like the revamped design? [Styleite]
